How do I change the pixel size of an image?

Okay...so I'm obsessed with the new movie Avatar by James Cameron. I want to change by Buddy Icon on my AIM to this cool Google Image picture I found of Avatar. The first thing i did was save my picture. Then I went to settings on my AIM %26gt; clicked the Expressions tab %26gt; clicked the Browse link %26gt; and then selected my picture %26gt; and then clicked Open. But after I clicked Open, a pop-up appeared and said: %26quot;Error: The height and width of the image must be not more than 64 pixels or less than 15 pixels. (IM-0703%26quot;

I figured out that the picture was 535 x 418 pixels, and that AIM Icons need to be 48 x 48 pixels.

How do I change 535 x 418 pixels to 48 x 48 pixels?!

(I have Microsoft '03, Dell....if that has anything to do with it...i have no idea!)

You can do a search on Google.com and find hundreds of programs to resize images.

Here is a link to an online image resizer that will do a quick job for your one image. You will only enter the width of 48 and the height will be calculated for you.

How do I get my photo on twitter?

I can't seem to upload a photo of myself, I guess they are all to big. They are in JPEG format, could that be the problem? could someone tell me how to change the size or format of the picture on my computer please? The smallest one I have is 1.11 mbs. and i don't even know what that means.

The biggest size for a picture on Twitter is like, 800 kilobytes or something. You can change a photo size using Photoshop or other image editors.

Since Photoshop is expensive, I recommend this site: http://bit.ly/ZqWP3

How can I decrease the file size of a digital camera picture downloaded to my computer?

Most of the pics I take are 2.1 to 2.5 mb files I need to shrink them down while keeping them as a .jpeg or changing to a .gif. Any advice will help please.

You can do this very easily, and I think (not positive) even in batches with Picasa2, free from Google/ This is a great program for organizing and sharing photos.

Try free tools Pixresizer or Irfanview

or do it online with Snipshot

http://snipshot.com/
use any picture viewer program - you might have one already on your computer or even PAINT. You can just %26quot;resize%26quot; the pictures. I normally resize to about 30% or 40% of the original size and it's perfect for viewing and lower memory. If you don't have any picture viewer program, you can always download one for free from www.download.com - it has tons of free programs sharewares for almost anything.
ACD SEE does the job exellent.

The quality doesnt change but size incridibly will be Decreased.
What Sarka... says is true, most software programs have an edit viewer of some type. The problem I'm having is with the enlargement protocol of the viewer. It states that the photo stays the same size, while the enlarged section is filled in with a plain background-color. Well, THat I understand because that's %26quot;exactly%26quot; what it does. What I don't understand is..... why?!?

Anyway, I prefer online editors for just about everything I do. They are versatile, and can be accessed from any puter... anywhere. The .jpeg(.jpg) format works best when storing photos online, the compressed files save space, load faster, all without any significant loss in the quality of the image's pi(x)cture.

How to add flashing lights to a PowerPoint Presentation?

I'm making a powerpoint for a class project, and at one point it would look really cool to have flashing lights on the slide, because it's an alarm sounding. I've been trying to figure out how to do it for the past hour, and I've came up short.

I was going to just put a lot of slides of the same picture and change their size so it looks like it's flashing, but that got tedious because if one was moved just a little bit it would look off.

I don't care if I have to download something (I don't want to buy anything, though), I just want to figure out how to do this.

Thank you!

It sounds like you already have the %26quot;light%26quot; that you want to have flash. PowerPoint actually includes a flash animation that will solve your problem. It's in the Custom Animation palette...

PowerPoint XP/2003, select the picture of the light, right click on it and select Custom animation to launch the palette.

PowerPoint 2007, select the picture of the light, go to the Animation tab at the top, click on Custom Animation near the left side to launch the animation palette.

From here it's the same for both versions: go to Add Effect at the top of the palette --%26gt; Emphasis --%26gt; Blink (if you don't see it, go to More Effects)

You'll see your picture or shape on the animation list, Double click on it and go to the Timing tab (or right click and select Timing). You can set the speed you want it to flash (you can actually type a number in there if you want to customize that setting), then for how long - sounds like you might want to set the repeat to Until next click or Until end of slide.

Hit OK, then back in the palette, the default will have the animation starting on a mouse click. If you want it to start when you get to the slide, pull down the Start setting and choose With previous.

You can get more complex than that using glows or two different color lights, etc. but I think this is a good simple solution to your problem.

Good luck and start playing around in the animation palette - you won't get hurt ;-) and you'll learn all kinds of great stuff!

You can use the appear and disappear transitions, over and over again, or the size change transition. Just look under %26quot;Custom Animation%26quot; in the toolbar. Good luck!

How do I repair a picture that I made smaller with the Paint program?

I made a picture smaller with the Paint Program in my computer. The picture was from My Pictures, and when I tried to change it back to the normal size, the image looked kind of distorted (mainly out of focus) and definitely not like it looked before I made it a smaller size. Is there anyway to fix this??

Sorry to say this, but i hope you have your original picture somewhere. There is no way to make the picture bigger again like you want. It will always look very pixel like.

When you work with a picture you can undo i guess, but not after you saved and closed paint one time.

Always save your original picture!

Good luck.

I want to use walmart.com and use a photo to put on a mug. and it's saying that the quality of my photo is not acceptable. I tried changing the size of the photo to what it wanted, and doing all kinds of things. What can i do?

How can i better the resolution of my picture?
use a original copy of the photo you took (in camera or on memory card) not one that's tiny and been shrunk down in size already
How can i better the resolution of my picture?
I've changed the image resolution to 300DPI (from 96). Consequently increasing the image size to approx 4inchs by 6.

As a general rule of thumb images for print must be 300+ DPI to achieve a good quality.

You will have to find the original image file and hope you shot it at the highest resolution your camera supports.

You cannot increase resolution on a file that is small. I would be like trying to enlarge a cupcake to feed thirty people ... there just isn't enough data available.

Does anyone know how to change the dimensions on pictures?

I have a lot of pictures on my computer, that my girlfriend has sent me. They are all different sizes, some are small and some are big. Is there a way I can make all the pictures all the same size?
Does anyone know how to change the dimensions on pictures?
Use the Image Resizer from Microsoft Powertoys

Does anyone know how to change the dimensions on pictures?
yes, but it's time-consuming...first you want to click %26quot;start%26quot; %26gt; %26quot;programs%26quot; %26gt; %26quot;accessories%26quot; %26gt; then try to find a program called %26quot;paint%26quot; or %26quot;mspaint%26quot; in that folder, in paint, open your picture, then click (on the top) %26quot;image%26quot;, then %26quot;attributes%26quot;...from there, you can change the dimensions of the picture to anything you want!
