i am building a webpage to display pictures of my newborn son for family and friends. I have figured out how to use the html code to put pictures on my page, but how do I change the size of the pictures? They are too large and look blurry. I know there is a way i just cant figure it out

you can use the browser to size your pictures by simply adding height or width parameters to the %26lt;img... tag.

i recommend you only set one of the parameters and let the browser figure out the other so that the ratio remains the same and your pictures don't become distorted.



however, this is not the best solution, as the browser doesn't do the best job of resizing pictures where they still look decent.



my advise is to get a hold of a graphics program like photoshop (already mentioned) and edit, clean-up, and size your pictures before you put them on the web. you can get a trial version, but it will only last for a 30 days or so, and the full version is expensive. there are cheaper ones. you can even use Paint, which comes free on your Windows computer. not the greatest, but it will do what you are wanting to do here.

I have this picture and I'm working on it on microsoft paint and I always get rid of the background with the eraser and cut out the body and face to make the background white kind of like a green screen effect so i can change the background color without losing my pic.my question is even after i do that there is always like little pieces of the background ledt in the pic and if i cut it out it will take of a piece of my head is there a way i can make the whole background one color and keep myself in the picture? or how do i fill in the background when i use the paint can it only makes little dots that are only like the size of a period.

Whan I opened a .jpg image in a particular notepad it showed certain symbols, numbers and letters... I highly recommend to edit a .gif file with a Hex Editor before editing a .jpg file, since it's one of the most basic image types.

Jpeg/bmp files.... the size of my picture??

I took some pics with my webcam, only when i went to look at them off the webcam they were tiny little pictures... no good for putting on profiles or anything.

I noticed the format of the files had changed (maybe cause i moved them from their original folder) so i opened them in paint and then saved them as Jpegs. however i have still lost the size...

So how come when i opened them with the webcam programme they were a decent size but now they're so small?

I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me how to get these pictures bigger :-)

Thats the Webcam software. Have a look and see if you can set the Resolution in the settings of the program.



If not, an easy way if to Print Screen (using the Print Screen button on your keyboard) when you have the image on the screen and then paste the print screen into MSPAINT.



There should be settings in the webcam program though.

try save as function of ur webcam programme. u save them to some other folder as jpg or png or what ever format u like.
Check your settings for your webcam and see what size they are saving pictures as. (ie, 640x480) You probably have the option somewhere in your webcam app to change the size of your cam captures.



If you can't figure out how to manipulate the settings on your webcam app, there are applications out there that can resize your pics, but it's not advised as they will severly pixelate if you do so.

I was sent images from a 7 mp camera over email, but they are not the original size. how do i change that?

I was sent some pictures over email that were taken by a 7 mp camera (yes it was set to best quality 7mp). When I downloaded the pictures they were only the quality of about a 3 mp camera. I can't enlarge them from the size they currently are without much pixelation. Is there some downloadedable software i can use to bring them back t their original size, or do i need to have them sent again? Does yahoo have a size limit or something?

This is what happens when images are sent via email, they get downsized. There are a few very expensive programs that purport to upsize images, but even they can't add detail and sharpness that isn't there. Basically, you have to get the images one at a time at the full size, there is no way to upsize the images and recover al he detail they had. All email service have size limits, usually limiting each email to no more than 10MB each. That would mean you could only get 1, maybe 2, images at that resolution per email.

If you use Picasa2 for your photo storage, you can export original sizes to another folder, then e-mail the image from that folder.

Jimmy's response is one I agree with. There is also the point that usually the picture file size you get from your camera is not the same as the camera sensor size. A 7 Mp camera might produce a 3 Mp JPEG or %26quot;.jpg%26quot; image file due to the compression built into the JPEG conversion process. You can make the file smaller for transmission over the Internet. In any case, as Jimmy said, if the detail is not there, no program is going to generate it for you. There are some things you can do in PhotoShop, such as %26quot;sharpening,%26quot; but you still need to have something to work with. This is one reason why the professionals usually use a RAW file format for their pictures; they save everything.



Some Internet Service Providers (ISP) and e-mail hosts do have a limit to the size of a file they can accept. They do seem to be getting larger, though, in general. Check with yours and ask what file size limits they may have. You can adjust your images to work with that limit and get the best picture you can from that limit. The only disadvantage to the larger file size is the longer transmission time.

You can record the actions (which I don't think applies to retouching) and use them over and over on different images, but it's not automatic when you're retouching different images.

You are going to have a problem using that format. Microsoft DirectDraw Surface (DDS) file format is not one that's listed amongst the file formats GIMP can open. You can however get a plugin to get GIMP to open it.



Unfortunately GIMP doesn't have a simple scripting option like Photoshop actions to do this sort of job. You are going to have to do it by hand, one by one.

a lot of times the size of my font, and page will change while im scrolling using my finger on my laptopl I got a dell studio a couple of weeks ago and its DRIVING ME NUTS! I get into reading a page, im scrolling down and suddenly my font/pictures are as big as the screen or so small i cannot see them. How can i turn this feature off? Need help with my big screen's picture.?

I have a 53%26quot; RCA (I believe) television and it is somewhat old. It was my parents and they bought it around '95 or so. They got a new one so I took this one because it worked. My problem is that when I turn the T.V. on, the picture is too big for the screen. I was watching Are you smarter than a fifth grader and the FOX emblem was half way cut off by the bottom of the T.V. It is not a widescreen, it is a perfect box. Also, the screen will change between its normal size and its oversize picture quickly. Does any one kow how to fix this because the picture is shaky and it hard to focus on it.

The tv might have different modes. Maybe you are in a Zoom mode, or something. Also, I believe projection tv's have some overscan. You can change that, but only from the service menu (and I don't know how to do it). Check your manual to see if you are in a Zoom mode.

If you go into the menu you will see something that says quality. You can change the size and quality here. It is really not a good idea though. You can always make a picture smaller but you can't make it bigger. If you get a picture that you would like to blow up you will be out of luck. Memory cards are cheap. Just buy a larger one.

the best i can help with is with question number three try photo bucket they have a way to generate a code from all your pictures and from there you can copy paste in the About me section.
When you login to your myspace account, next to your picture on the homepage is a link that says *edit profile*.

Click that, and it will take you to a new page. At the top right of the window there is another link that says %26quot;Profile Editor%26quot;. It's really user friendly and you can change font colors, sizes, fonts etc for each area of the page individually, or as a whole.



As for the pictures, I've always found it easiest to open a photobucket account (Photobucket.com) , upload your pics there, then copy the html tag into the *about me* section on your myspace page. It also lets you do slideshows.

I am printing a very long word document (term paper around 200+ pages), the paper size was set to letter (8.5%26quot; x 11%26quot;) when it was done but the only available paper is A4. A4 paper is about 6% smaller than letter size. I think you manually format the changes. Either go to a printing store and have them print it, or sell you Letter size paper. Are you in Europe or Asia?

Icon files have a %26quot;.ico%26quot; file extension. In order to change the Macintosh hd icon you need to replace it with another icon file. Picture files are not compatible (eg .jpeg, .gif, .bmp).

When I put a picture for my background on stretch it's all blury, so I tryed using center and you have to get a microscope to see it. How do I change the size on center of the pic on center? I've already tryed tile and I don't care for it.

I'm pretty sure you have to change the size of the picture itself; you can't the size of the %26quot;Center%26quot; feature. Just open your picture in any image-editing software and look for something that says Resize, Image Size, etc. (Keep in mind that since your picture is small to begin with, the larger you make it, the more grainy/blurry it will become - if you want the pic to cover your whole desktop, it'll probably be VERY blurry.)



Anyways, if you want to try resizing:

It's probably best to resize your picture in Photoshop or a similar program; however, you can resize it in Paint. Just open the picture in paint and make the white canvas space as big as you want the picture to be. Then use the rectangle %26quot;Select%26quot; tool to select your picture. Resize the pic one of 2 ways:

- Grab a corner %26amp; pull it out to make the pic bigger.

- Go to Image%26gt;Stretch/Skew. Change the percentages under %26quot;Stretch%26quot;... make sure they're over 100% and that %26quot;Horizontal%26quot; and %26quot;Vertical%26quot; have equal percentages. Experiment until you get the right size. This method is better than trying to resize the image by stretching/dragging the image around, because this method ensures that your picture will be in proper proportions when you're done.

To make it easier. I have two pictures of a balloon.

1st picture: the balloon is inflated, has shape but not inflated fully.

2nd picture: the balloon is inflated full.

The distance between the balloon and the camera is static.



Is there a way to know the relative change in size dimension of the balloon. Remember, this is a non-linear shape, so its not a circle, oval balloon. Can I measure the changes in the expansion?



The only way I know now is unscientifically make a grid plot on the image and count the grids from there.

Yeah, there are ways but they're a bit complicated to describe here (computer vision, principal axis analysis).



However computing the area changes should be pretty easy; just count the number of non-background pixels in the image and that will give you the area of the balloon. =P

If the balloon is oval solve for a short diameter then a long diameter and average the results for a fair approximation. The skin expands more where it has thinned more. If you don't know the actual diameter of the balloon (small or large) assign unity (1) to small and determine the relative increase.



If the balloon is highly non-spherical, perhaps divide it into two spheres in one volume. Likely the true shape may change with the degree of inflation permitting only an approximation from a photo. Actual balloons in hand could be used to displace water from a topped off container to determine volumes of the balloons.

I think what you are looking for is the proper resolution to set your camera to. 300 DPI is not that great a resolution. If you set your camera to 600X800 resolution, that would be the lowest resolution your camera has, and probably close to 300DPI

ok so usually my sims 3 runs really well but i was playing before and minimised it for a while to do something else then when i went back to later everything was smaller and skinny like it had been pushed together and there was a big black line down the side so half the picture was getting cut off. i tried changing the size in options and that got rid of the black part but everything was still small and skinny

Programming Java Applet Help?

My assignment is basically to create multiple objects in a java applet that form a picture. The picture must then appear in a random place at a random size. I could really use some help!



Ok, so I got the picture drawn in java, in a static place and size.

Here's an example of what I did ( with a random picture i don't know how this one would look):

STARTED OUT WITH JUST THE PICTURE

OK SO THAT WORKED THEN I ADDED RANDOM MOVEMENT:

It was the same size every time but random movement and the picture stayed together



Then, I tried to change the size and THE PICTURE FELL APART!

page.drawOval (50 + a, 100 + b, 140 * c, 140 * c);



I THOUGHT THAT THIS WOULD KEEP THE PICTURE INTACT AND SWITCH THE SIZE BUT ALTHOUGH THE SIZE WAS RANDOMIZED THE PARTS OF THE PICTURE ARE NO LONGER FORMING THE PICTURE, JUST RANDOMLY SCATTERED AROUND THE PAGE!!!

When you click on the image, you will see small white circles on the borders. You can click and drag these to resize the image. If you drag the circles on the corners, the image can be resized in the same proportions as the original. If you Ctrl + drag, the image will expand or contract from its centre (you might have to try this to understand what I mean). The little green circle on the top of the image allows you rotate the image.



If you want to crop the image, right-click on the image and select 'Show Picture Toolbar'. One of the options on the picture toolbar is 'Crop'. If you click on it, you will see short black lines appear on the centre of the edges and corners of the image. Click on these lines and drag to crop the image. Alt + drag to get very fine control. If you're using Office 2007, you should see the crop option on the silly ribbon interface.



When you reduce the size of the image by resizing, only its size on screen changes, its size in kilobytes stays the same. To reduce this size to give you a smaller file size, copy the resized image, paste back into PowerPoint as Edit %26gt; Paste Special %26gt; Picture (PNG) and delete the original. The file size will now reflect the newer, lower size of the image.

If you mean to scale the image, you just click on it and drag it in from the corners.



If you mean to crop the image, right click on the image, go to properties, size and layout, and there should be an option there for you.

Go to pages 69-70. It shows you how to check and change your resolution/compression setting as well as show you how many images you will be able to shoot per 2GB or 8GB.



Your camera has 12MP, so to shoot in the largest size (resolution) and least compression...make sure Large/Fine is selected. This is what you usually should do.

You could also shoot in a smaller resolution (8MP, M1) if you want to be able to fit more images on your card. However, I generally think it's best to shoot in the best resolution available and buy another memory card if required.



2GB isn't very much capacity at all, so depending on how long your vacation is, you might need to consider buying another card. A 4GB SDHC card would be better. Just make sure you buy a fast card. Cards are available in three speed classes (2, 4 or 6). Don't buy a standard speed or Class 2 card, because these are much too slow. For your camera, I recommend a Class 6 card at the very least. You will need a fast card for optimum camera performance and especially when recording HD video.



Make sure you always Format any brand new card before you use it the first time (via your camera Menu). Your User Guide tells you this. Also, Format the card again once ALL files have been transferred to your computer. Formatting deletes all files from the card and keeps the card in good order and helps prevent card errors.



When shooting in Large/Fine you will be able to shoot approx 626 images per 2GB.

When recording HD video (1280 x 720), you will only be able to record just under 11 minutes of video...so, you can see that 2GB really isn't much capacity. Look on page 95 of your User Guide.



Memory cards can be bought anywhere, so if you need another card while on vacation...simply buy another (just remember to format it first). Don't forget to take your User Guide with you. It's there for reference...you just need to make the effort to open it up and read it.



p.s. if you learn to read the information that's on your LCD screen...you will be able to tell at a glance how many shots you can take and how much movie recording time you have left. Look on pages 44-45.

My brother is running for high school class class president so I scanned a $100 bill, modified it, and made it into a flyer. I changed the picture and most of the words, I changed %26quot;this note is legal tender%26quot; to %26quot;this note is not legal tender%26quot;, and I printed only the front side. I did print it at actual size however. Then I realized that this might be considered counterfeiting or something. If anyone knows whether this is legal or not, please let me know. Also, how would I be punished if caught? If it's illegal, I certainly won't distribute any of these flyers. Thanks.

i can tell you of 2 ways to resize pictures..



the 1st is:

1. select the picture you would like to adjust the size.

2. go to Image %26gt; Image Size %26gt; then on the document size type in the adjustments you want.. if you want to keep the proportion of the picture, put a check on constrain proportion..



2nd ways is..

1. select the picture you want to adjust the size.

2. then press F7 for the Layer window to show.

3. if its in background, double click on the background layer and change it to layer 0.

Zooming out works without damaging the quality, but if you use mspaint you will ruin the quality anyways.
Image - Stretch/Skew, put Horizontal %, Vertical %. e.g. if you put Horizontal = 50%, Vertical = 50%, image resizes to 1/2 its original size.
Start MS Paint and then open your image. At the top tool bar, go to image then to attributes. You can then adjust the width %26amp; height of whatever it is you are working with. Just be sure that you adjust the width %26amp; height proportionally.
There is no way you can re-size the photo without losing the quality of the photo.



MS Paint is designed to Zoom into photos for detailed pixel repair.



If you want to zoom out then you have to use another program, or get used to scrolling across the screen.

I use the pagebuilder mode on Freewebs.com, and they recently changed the photo upload system. I have three very important new photos I need to upload pronto, but it won't let me because each time I try to upload it says, %26quot;file size exceeds allowed limit%26quot;. Why, why, why is it so hard to get the photo-size I want?

I recently did some photo portraits for a friend. I did some minor editing to them in Photoshop Elements but I didn't change the size as I had already cropped in-camera to create the effect I wanted.



After they chose their images to be processed, I uploaded them to Photobox to have them developed as 7%26quot;x5%26quot; prints. Here is where I get confused:



The images were shown with a 7%26quot;x5%26quot; aspect box around them but while it fitted perfectly along the width (5%26quot;), the box lacked height (7%26quot;) and I had to decide whether to lose a hand from the bottom of the image or more of the headfrom the top. I didn't take the picture in that way with the intention of cropping it. If I had originally cropped the image to an irregular shape on Photoshop I could understand why the picture wouldn't fit but this really pissed me off!



I tried choosing different sized prints but, although the 6%26quot;x4%26quot; fitted almost exactly (a tad too much width-wise, though), the larger choices just cropped MORE of the image.



How am I supposed to show someone their photo files in order to choose their images if what ever size they decide to have will be cropped in the end?



6%26quot;x4%26quot; = almost fine

7%26quot;x5%26quot; = cropped a fraction

8%26quot;x10%26quot; = cropped A LOT!

Bigger = Why did you even bother?



I'm so het up about it. Is there a trick that I haven't learned yet? What's the point of cropping in-camera if you have to slice MORE off depending on the print size? Do I need to know what size they wanted in the beginning? What the hell do I do if they want more than one of the same picture but in different sizes? They won't look the same - crop-wise.

I can't lay it out any better than fotoace did for you, except to say again PLEASE STOP that in camera cropping!



When you are taking client photos you have to allow for all possible desired sizes. That means you do not put your subject at extreme closeness to the edges of the frame. Always allow room in your composition to %26quot;throw away%26quot; parts along the edges.



... and again... do your cropping in Photoshop.... NOT the camera.

Why, why, why is it so hard to get the photo-size I want?
When I do all my crops, which are never in the camera, I always crop to 5x7. If I need to print 4x6, which I very very very rarely do, I can shave just a bit off each side. If I need to crop 4x5 (8x10) then it just takes a bit from the top or bottom. I do occasionally crop things to 4x5 aspect ratio right off the bat if there's no way to make it work without losing something vital to the picture. Likewise with 4x6.



I use michiganphoto.com to print anything. They have their own program that is run online that fits your picture into a frame of a size you choose and then you can move it around if the size isn't perfect to the crop you want. It really couldn't be much easier.



If you are really hellbent on having the entire image, no matter what the size, printed, add a little white border around the whole thing then cut it off when you get the pictures back, or ask the printer to do it for you. They may for no extra charge, especially if they know you. You can either figure out how much extra you need to make sure the entirety of the picture in your camera, or just add 100 pixels to the canvas size, 50 to each side and top and bottom. Anything that is going to be displayed is most likely going to be matted and framed anyway. That little extra bit of white will probably be hidden by a matte anyway.



If they matte the picture, they're going to lose 1/4%26quot; around the whole picture anyway. If I have a crop of photo that cannot change, I tell my clients that they get 4x5 or 8x10, and that's all that's available for that pic. Generally when I have any problems, its with something that has to stay as square as possible. Good Luck.
Do NOT crop in the camera. You have no way of knowing what the engineers decided that the camera throw away during the crop!



* Shoot everything at your cameras highest resolution



* When you do crop using Elements, save the new image as a new file name so you do NOT overwrite your original file.



* Cropping using the much larger screen on the computer will be much more accurate than trying to use the tiny LCD on your camera.



* For each print size, crop it to the exact dimensions and make sure you save it at the highest quality JPEG setting @ 300 DPI.



* For ease of finding those files again, when you rename them, put a 46, 57 or 810 at the end of the file name to remind you of the cropping it has.



You may find creating a new file folder for each shoot and sub - folders for each size crop will help you manage your photos better.

Changing the size of an image to print?
You need to find where to edit the image *resolution*, which is the number of pixels per inch the image will be displayed. Typical values are 72dpi and 300dpi. Many newer scanners are capable of finer detail (e.g. 4800dpi). Changing the resolution does not change the pixel dimensions of an image, but affects how large it will be printed.



Selecting the same resolution as your scanner uses will cause the image to be printed the same size.
Changing the size of an image to print?
It’s not very difficult to change the size of the print out in order for it to fit the printer size, when you print on your printer. Moreover, changing the size of the print out means you could also print on index cards, envelopes and labels.



Follow the steps given below to change the size of the printout.



STEP 1: Switch on the Computer and Printer



Turn on your computer and printer. Check if the printer is functioning properly or not.



STEP 2 – The Printer Menu



You need to reach the Printer Settings by following this path – Start-Control Panel- Printers and Faxes. Right click on the printer icon.

You now have to click on the properties Tab and when you reach the window, click on Settings.

STEP 6: Customize



If you don’t think that any of the sizes that are offered to you are suitable, then all you need to do is select ‘Custom’. Here, you will have to put in your own size requirements. You must demarcate the length, as well as, the width.



The job is now done.

How does the VGA setting on a digital camera differ from the other image size settings.?

My girlfriend and I are both using Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-W100 digital camera's. The user's guide shows that the VGA image size setting is for E-mail's. I am posted in the Middle East and my girlfriend, back in the States, sends me pictures attached to E-mails. Most of the time the pictures will not attached because they are to large. If she changes her image size setting to VGA, will it help.

This is an ultra low megapixel setting. It's roughly 1/60th the size (should be about 65kb long) of pictures taken on the camera's highest setting. It should look fine on the computer screen as part of attached email. However, you will not be able to print that out and get a decent result.

the default size of sending an image through internet and especially mail is VGA[640 x 480]. now the mail's antivirus operator does not accept more than VGA resolution pictures as they are aware of the viruses spreading through them. so they do not allow images more than VGA. but one thing is that u can send a file or image of any size to ur girlfriend if u have the yahoo! messenger by using the %26quot;send file%26quot; function.

What everyone else said. What most peole do, is shoot at best quality, because that gives you the best prints, and then when you want to send a few pictures in an email, make copies of those specific pictures in an image editor to shrink the file size.

Today i had the photos in my digital camera developed. It`s first time i`ve done this as i haven`t had the camera long. I had about 70 pictures in it and it cost me 拢18 - is that a lot ? It seemed a lot. After the whole process was over the assistant who`d been helping me said, %26quot;well you could have got em cheaper if you`d got em smaller but it`s too late now, if you want to change size of em you`ll have to go thru em all again !%26quot; Apparently she clicked for me to have them a bigger size (without even asking me what size i wanted) I didn`t fancy being stuck in the shop any longer - i`d been there about half an hour already - so i just left it and paid the 18 quid. I use Snappy Snaps and they're really helpful. Small prints (4 x 6%26quot;) are about a tenner for a hundred.

The cheapest place to have photos done is at your own home, however, that can turn prohibitive too, if you take too many pics. However; at home, you can decide what size you want and you can make sure that you choose exactly what you want, as well as editing some of them, if you so wish.
asda do them for 5p if u have 100+ (or something near that mark), i found them to be the cheapest... but saying that, ive never printed any at home though...

Recently i have set up my Xbox 360 to stream videos, pictures, and what not using Windows Media Center 2005 (In other words im using XP on my computer instead of Vista). Everything works great. However, when i try to run my videos, it automatically re sizes them to fit my screen. How do i make them play in their original video size?

If you change your video settings in console settings, you can get the wide screen view you're probably looking for. As far as videos original dimensions, you won't get this on the xbox. It will either run in 16:9 widescreen or 4:3 full screen aspects.

Ok so I wanted to make a movie in HD Widescreen on youtube. I found out how so I tested it by making a picture in paint and making it 1080x720. I then imported it on movie maker and changed the settings to widescreen and then saved it in HD. I uploaded this and it worked fine. But now I made an actually movie out of a bunch of pictures and when I uploaded it to test, it wasnt in HD. the pictures change from 1080x720 to 1018x721. I dont think the size of the pictures themself matter but I dont know. What do I do?

If its on a Word doc, then usually you can double click the picture, and it will allow you to copy/edit. After coping, you can now paste it into Paint or similar program.

You'll have to crop and resize it. I would also recommend using .PNG format. Cut out only the part you want (I am assuming RS is Runescape) and put it in GIMP (See link.) Then, upload it onto Tinypic, or Flickr. I recommend Flickr, since you're already signed up on yahoo, and all Yahoo accounts have an attached Flickr account.

did your printer come with a program for printing? or do you have printing wizard( on pc) the programs do the resizing on their own. when you hit print do you get options on that sometimes you see a preview of what is going to print and on size you put 4x6.

Just take the original image file into your local lab and have them make a 4x6 inch print from it. You don't have to do anything to it. They will print it and all will be well.
You'll have to crop a half inch off the short side to make it fit a 4x6. In other words you'll need to reduce the short side by 85 pixels so it is 682 pixels long.

On my Samsung, picture size is determined by the P SIZE button near the bottom of the remote. The choices are similar to what you list above, but there another, JUST SCAN. That's the default mode where I leave it almost all the time. Changing to different inputs, like my DVD player, seems to always result in the best picture with the P SIZE function left in JUST SCAN.

What sort of a concert is it? Popular, or classical music? Are you allowed to use flash? What sort of lighting is there? These are the questions you need to consider.



If its a pop concert with limited lighting, you are going to struggle whatever, you can remove the noise in post processing, Photoshop lightroom has a function to reduce noise. So you can shoot at a reasonably high iso (around 800-1600). Your flash is probably not going to be any use at the sort of ranges you will be shooting at. Finally switch on IS which will give you 2-3 stops on your shutter speed. Also shoot at the widest zoom since thats when your aperture is most open. This will maximise the amount of light you get onto your sensor.

Your camera is a cheap P%26amp;S, one of the cheapest on the market, of course the pictures are bad quality and grainy in low light!. The reason being that the sensor in your camera is about the size of a grain of salt, is terrible at gathering light and will produce awful noise in your images. This is why DSLR's have sensors 20x the size of that of P%26amp;S's.



The only thing you could try is by setting it to some sort of 'night' mode and try and clean up the image afterwards using post processing software. You are simply expecting too much from your camera, you need to buy a new one.

My daughter is entering this contest with designing and she's having problems uploading her picture/ design. The site says that the file has to be a JPEG and less than 300k. The picture is a JPEG, but the file doesn't say whether or not it's a #k. The file is 1.70 MB. Is this smaller or larger than 300k? And either way, how do you change the file size of the picture and or to match the 'k' of the 300k? If possible please give a step by step approach, (I know that's asking a lot, but you don't have to. Just if it's possible!)

The software that opens the picture so that you can see it should have all the tools you need change the picture. This is not complicated, however, you must read the directions or, better yet, talk to friends or relatives about what they are using on their computer.

You can reduce the font size by pressing ctrl and - together but the buttons will be less effected. My guess is you'll get used to it. Google doesn't make changes without testing them on large sample sizes of users first and checking if they like them. Maybe it won't grow on you and you'll stay annoyed by it but if you do you'll be in the minority.



EDIT: I just went back to it after about 10 minutes and I'm already used to it. :)

Easiest way is to drag the bounding box of the picture when its selected and resize it as you want.



If you need more accuracy, jut right click the picture the choose Format Picture. Go to the Size tab and enter the exact size you need (usually in inches, but depends on your default unit of measurement). In MS Word 2007, just right click then head to Size and then the same thing applies.



You cannot change resolutions though, for that you'll need at least a basic graphics editor.

Youtube videos changing size constantly?

Whenever I watch videos on youtube (and youtube only; This doesn't happen with hulu, google video, etc), the video will shrink to about 1/4th the original size, and then quickly change back. It constantly switches between the right size and the small size, and it's really annoying. I managed to get a picture of what it shrinks to:

I have a Proview 32%26quot; lcd model PA-32JK1SA. Now I have a RCA universal remote as well, not the original remote that came with the tv when it was purchased. My picture size is to large, anything that is written at the top or bottom of the screen, such as news tickers, I can not read. I have been thru the video and setup screens and there is not anything there to change this. Plus there is not a button on my remote to change this either.
