Microsoft Paint is free software that comes with Windows. You can resize images, cut out rectangle-sized pieces from them, etc.

To resize, open the image file in Microsoft Paint, then from the Menu, choose Image, then Stretch/Skew, then do 25% or 50% or whatever size you want. Then re-save as a separate file.

For WinXP: Start -%26gt; All Programs -%26gt; Accessories -%26gt; Paint

For all Windows: Start -%26gt; Run -%26gt; %26quot;mspaint%26quot; -%26gt; OK

Many applications / software that help you to open / view these pictures also have an option to %26quot;resize%26quot; / %26quot;resample%26quot;. You could reduce the resolution and make your pictures smaller in size.

Some programs also allow you to %26quot;crop%26quot; an area that you want from the whole picuture.
open your picture in some program, click the picture and hit ctrl-C (which puts the picture on your clipboard)

Click Start, run, then enter mspaint and hit enter. paste your image by clicking ctrl-V. Then while the image you've pasted is still outlined in mspaint, left-click the lower right corner of the image and drag it diagonally upward and leftward directly toward the upper left corner of the picture, until it is the size you want. Drag it rightward and down to blow up.
