How to change a CRT TVs picture size without a remote?

I have an old CRT television, but the problem is, I always have the edges of the screen cut off. The tv%26#039;s remote (a proper brand name one) has a button for that that does not work, and there is no way to change it from the tv%26#039;s menu.
